What's in a name?
Christ as their Savior through faith and not works. Baptists believe in the autonomy of the local church (that non-denomination thing again). Baptists also believe that once one is saved, they should make that profession of faith public by submitting to believer's baptism by immersion. It is from this practice that the name Baptist is derived. Find out more of what we believe here.
What's the difference between
Desert Springs and a non-denominational church?
There are many non-denominational churches with similar beliefs to ours. They are baptistic in their beliefs
about salvation, baptism, autonomy of the local church and other
core doctrines.
There are other non-denominational churches whose
doctrine differs from that of Desert Springs. Some of these might
believe that one must be baptized in order to become a Christian.
Others might teach that once you have become a Christian, you can
lose your salvation over and over again if you mess up.
Many of these doctrinal differences are pretty
important and have eternal consequences! The problem is, you might
attend a church for some time before you discover what they truly
believe or teach. That is why we choose to be called Desert Springs
Baptist Church instead of Desert Springs Community Church or simply
Desert Springs Church. We want you to know who we are right away with no nasty surprises down the road.
