Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
It is a fixed principle in this life that we reap according to what we sow. The picture that is portrayed in this verse is of an individual with a large apron open in front of them, loaded with seed. The more the seed is cast out, the greater the harvest. If we give generously, we will be rewarded generously, but if we give sparingly, we will also be rewarded sparingly.
