1 John 2:10
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
If one professes to be a Christian and yet hates those who are truly believers, it is a sure sign that such a one is in darkness. The individual continues to be what they always were – unsaved. On the other hand, the one who characteristically loves their brother abides in the light, and there is no stumbling in them. This may mean that the individual themselves is not in danger of stumbling or that they will not cause others to stumble. If the Christian is really living in touch with the Lord, the light illuminates their own pathway, and no one else is offended because of any discrepancy between their profession and practice.
