John 16:26

At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

“That day” is the age of the Holy Spirit, in which we now live. Our privilege is to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. The Father doesn’t need to be urged to answer our prayers and Jesus will not have to entreat Him. We should still remember that Jesus is the mediator between God and man, and He intercedes on behalf of His people before the throne of God.
