The Lord Jesus anticipated His return to heaven. He prayed as if He had already gone. The title “Holy Father” speaks of One who is infinitely high and intimately nigh. Jesus’ prayer “that they may be one” refers to the unity of Christian character. As the Father and Son are One in moral likeness, so believers should be united in the same respect.
