John 17:21

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

The prayer was for unity among believers, but this time it was with the salvation of sinners in view. The unity for which Christ prayed was not a matter of external unity. Rather He prayed for unity that was based on common moral likeness. Jesus was praying that believers might be one in exhibiting the character of God and Christ. This is what would cause the world to believe that God had sent Him.
