Philippians 3:20- 21
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Though we are citizens of a state and country, because of our new birth, we are citizens of heaven. Because of our citizenship, we have a responsibility to the earthly government but our first loyalty is to be to the Lord of heaven. Not only are we citizens of heaven, but we also eagerly wait for the Saviour from heaven. The verb phrase “we look” expresses the earnest expectation of something believed to be imminent. When Jesus comes from heaven, He will change our bodies into a body that will be equipped for eternity in heaven.
