Daily Devotion – July 11, 2018

Isaiah 33:18-19

Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers? Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.


The moments of terror that were brought on by the Assyrians, would not last. The terror the Assyrians brought on were when they weighed out the gold paid in tribute, when his spies counted the towers of the city in preparing to attack it, and when the Jews heard the foreign language of the Assyrians in their midst.
