He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
The selfish farmer keeps his corn off the market in time of a famine, hoping for a greater return when the prices are driven up. He is a profiteer, enriching himself by impoverishing and starving others. Because of their actions, people will curse the farmer, as they desire someone who will meet their need now. If the farmer wants to be blessed, they will sell their corn at a price that is fair.
