The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
The lazy individual allows a “lion” to keep them from doing anything but staying in bed. They turn one way and then, the other, but remain where they are. When they get hungry, they reach into a bowl of food but they do not have the energy or strength to bring it to their mouth. They think they know everything but due to their laziness, they have not experienced anything.
