1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Peter challenges his readers to praise the Author of salvation – “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”. The name that Peter uses presents God in a two-fold relationship to Jesus Christ, which emphasizes the humanity of the Saviour (Jesus) and the deity of God’s Son (Christ). It is because of God’s abundant mercy that we have been born again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, from the dead.
