1 Corinthians 1:2
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
The letter that Paul wrote was addressed to “the church of God which is at Corinth”. The Corinthian congregation are described as those who are sanctified in Christ, called “saints”. The word “sanctified” means set apart to God from the world and describes the position of all who belong to Christ. Due to their practical condition, they were to set themselves apart in holy living, day by day.
