Desert Springs Baptist Church was founded in September of 1998 by Pastor Gary Berry, his wife Carol, and their 4 children. Beginning a new church was an exciting time in their lives, and they saw lives changed for Christ and built a solid foundation for the new work. While meeting in Thornydale Elementary School, the church purchased 5 acres of land in northwest Tucson, looking to the future. Only four years later, Carol's life was taken by cancer, and in June 2004, Pastor Berry resigned and accepted the call to pastor Southland Baptist Church in Belton, MO.

Bro. Arnold "Scooter" Belasco served as Interim Pastor until the church called William Rainey, missionary to Scotland, as the next pastor in August 2004. While Pastor Rainey served at Desert Springs, the church paid off the note for the property and began to prepare to build. Pastor Rainey left in 2007 to pastor a church in his home state of Texas.

During this time, the church also sent out Scooter and Leslie Belasco to attend Bible college in Springfield, MO to prepare for the mission field. They were approved as missionaries to Spain in October 2008 where they are still currently ministering.

After Pastor Rainey's resignation, Bro. Anthony McCully, part-time Youth Pastor at DSBC, filled the pulpit as Interim Pastor.

Pastor Ron Moxon and his wife Vickie were called to Desert Springs in 2008, and in June of that year, they moved from their ministry in Dubuque, IA to continue the Lord's work in northwest Tucson. In June 2012, an 8,000 square foot building was completed, where the church still meets today.

Every week, Desert Springs Baptist Church serves our community with worshipful and Bible-preaching services, Bible studies and prayer, community outreach and events, and various fellowship opportunities. We are so thankful for the work the Lord has completed through us, and we look forward to seeing His majesty continue to shine through His church in the future.
