If we are chastened, we are a child of God  -  Hebrews 12:7

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

The good news – God only disciplines those that belong to Him. His correction proves that we are His child. Our responsibility is to be submissive to the chastening of God, as when we do, we permit His discipline to mold us into His image.
