If we draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to us  -  James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

We draw near to God through prayer. To draw near to him, we come before Him in desperate, believing prayer, telling Him all that is in our heart. As we approach God, He will come near to us. To come into God’s presence, we must cleanse our hands and purify our hearts, the hands speak of actions, while the heart represents our motives and desires. We cleanse our hands and purify our hearts through confession and forsaking sin.
