When we are righteous, the eyes of God are on us  -  1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

God looks, with approval, on those who act righteously and He is attentive to their prayers. The opposite is also true, God’s face is against those who do evil and He can’t hear their prayers.
