We have the assurance that all work together for our good, if we love God  -  Romans 8:28-29

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  

This verse is always true, even when we are experiencing difficulty in our life. Though when we do experience trouble, we wonder what good can come out of it. The reason why we can believe that all we experience will come out for our good – the end result, being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
