If we want healing must follow God’s plan to receive it - James 5:14-16
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
It is important to understand that our physical healing was and is not an automatic part of Jesus’ experience on the cross and it is not always God’s will to heal. We will, however, be healed when we arrive in heaven. God can use our suffering to develop our faith, character, and maturity. If we are sick, we can follow what James wrote – call on others to pray for us, be anointed with oil, and trust God to do what is asked. When our illness is because of sin, we are to confess it and be restored spiritually because many times we experience physical ailments due to our rebellion towards God and His Word.
