If we are the children of God, we will be like Christ, when He appears  -  1 John 3:2

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

 John states a great truth – once an individual has received Christ as their Saviour, they become a son of God. The future blessing is that a son of God, when the One that saved them appears, will be changed into the same form as He, a body of no corruption, sin, or decay.
