If we are just, no evil will come upon us  -  Proverbs 12:21

There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

 It is true, in a general sense, that no grave trouble happens to the righteous. However, this is not a rule without exceptions. What is the truth without exception, the just are preserved from the evil consequences that follow the behavior of the wicked.
