If we please God, He will allow us to have peace with our enemies  -  Proverbs 16:7

When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

This proverb is a general rule, but it does have exceptions. Someone who lives righteously can disarm opposition, as goodness has the power to charm and win even their enemies to themselves.
