God’s Word gives understanding to the simple  -  Psalm 119:130

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

The entrance of the Word of God into the world gives light, whether to nations, families, or individuals. This could be why it is rejected, as mankind loves darkness rather than light. Those who desire the light of the Word of God will receive understanding, as they acknowledge themselves to be simple and in need of help.
